2025-2026 Tri-City Eagles Travel-Lite Interest and Evaluation Skates: Registration Now Open

Travel and Travel-Lite programming differ to accommodate various levels of commitment, experience, and appropriate competitive placement.   

For comparison, our Travel season begins in August and ends late Feb/early March.  The program includes two weekly practices and between 45-55 games to include participation in the CBHL (local Travel league), AHF (regional travel league), and additional tournaments (combination of local and out of state).  Teams are assembled from a competitive tryout process, gauging player abilities and team construction. 

For Travel-Lite, the season begins in October and ends late Feb/early March.  Practices are once weekly and approximately 25 games are played, to include participation in CCHL, non-league play, and one out of state tournament.  Travel-Lite team construction uses an evaluation process that quantifies baseline fundamentals for appropriate competitive play.  

Tri-City is divided into three programs: Travel, Travel-Lite, and House Hockey.

Tri-City has established a path for player development that focuses on building a solid foundation of skills.  Brand new players will start with the Learn to Play program hosted by The Gardens Ice House (TGIH), graduate into the Tri-City Eagles House program, and then have the opportunity to seek a roster spot on a Travel-Lite and/or Travel team, where the player will gain the valuable experience of playing on a full season team.

Tri-City's House program is a fundamentals focused development program, utilizing an academy-like setting with station-based practices and cross ice competition.  All events are in-house and held at TGIH.  It is designed to establish a foundation for beginner players to develop skills, foster a love for the game, and prepare for future steps all with a manageable commitment.  

Travel-Lite creates an environment for players to continue developing their skills and experience in a full season team environment.  Here, players will grow friendships, learn from a designated coaching staff, and compete as a unit against external opponents while maintaining a manageable commitment level that remains less intensive compared to Travel Hockey.  Depending on the individual, Travel-Lite can be a fantastic destination or a stepping stone to higher levels.  

The Tri-City Eagles Travel Program is the height of our competitive experience and requires a greater level of commitment.  The season is longer and there are increases in both practice and game schedules, to include out of state competition.   Various competitive levels exist within our Travel Program, creating multiple opportunities for appropriate competitive experiences.
